CFD Analysis

For companies that need to analyze an engineering application using Loci-Stream, but do not have a dedicated CFD team, we offer complete analysis services. We can perform all stages of CFD analysis including pre-processing, solution, and post-processing for engineering problems. Below is a brief high-level summary of the work that can be done by Streamline Numerics staff.

• Pre-processing (typically involves geometry and mesh generation)

  • Work with customer to generate a suitable geometry file that will be used the generate a mesh

  • Generate a mesh from a geometry file using one of the tools shown on the grid generation page, and convert the mesh to the vog format

  • Convert a mesh file to the vog format if a file is provided

• Solving (running one or many simulations using Loci-Stream)

  • Set up a run control file for Loci-Stream that adheres to specifications provided by the customer

  • Execute an agreed upon set of simulations on AWS hardware

• Post-Processing (typically involves extracting visual or numerical information from simulation output files)

  • Deliver output files to customer if they want to analyze the data

  • Analyze solution files using Paraview if the desired outputs/quantities of interest are provided, and return results to the customer.
